How to Use
Ingredients
- 1 cup of “Tropicks365 Authentic Jamaican Dried Sorrel”
- 4 cups water (for boiling)
- 2-4 cups cold water (for dilution)
- Sweetener to taste (sugar, honey, or any preferred sweetener)
Optional: Spices (e.g. ginger, cloves, or cinnamon) for added flavor
Instructions
1. Boil Water: In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
2. Add Dried Sorrel: Once the water is boiling, add the dried sorrel leaves. If you’re using any spices (like ginger or cloves), add them at this stage as well.
3. Simmer: Allow the mixture to simmer for about 15-20 minutes. This will extract the color and flavor from the dried sorrel.
4. Strain the Mixture: After simmering, remove the pot from heat. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to separate the liquid from the solid sorrel leaves and spices.
5. Sweeten: While the liquid is still warm, add your preferred sweetener to taste, stirring until it is fully dissolved.
6. Dilute: Add 2-4 cups of cold water to dilute the juice according to your taste preference. The amount of water you add can be adjusted based on how concentrated you want the juice to be.
7. Chill and Serve: Let the sorrel juice cool, then refrigerate it until cold. Serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
Enjoy your homemade sorrel juice!
